Rise and Shine

 
Anyone who knows me, probably knows that I am NOT a morning person. I've tried to be, but it never works out!
It's the thought of my first cup of coffee that helps me rise and shine! 
So, when I was given the opportunity to be a sponsor for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop, I couldn't resist!

For my card, I decided to Rise and Shine It's Coffee Time with one of our new Digi stamp images called "Java Jada". 
 
 
Jada looks about as happy as I do, in the morning, during my first cup of coffee.
I began by sizing my Digi Stamp image to approximately 3.75". I printed her on white card stock and cut her out using my Silhouette die cutting machine. 
 
 
The fun began when I started to color my image! (my supplies are listed below)
I used a combination of Copic markers and watercolors. I don't always have the exact Copic color I need for the look I am trying to achieve, so I often use watercolors to add, or enhance, my shadows and highlights. It's a personal preference, and something I am comfortable with. I'm sure you have your own personal preferences as well.
 
   
 
For my background and card elements, I printed out Digi papers from 2 different paper packs, Morning Brew and Coffee Break. I love these Digi paper packs! Each one of these papers inspired me. It was almost too hard to choose which ones I would actually use for my card.
 
 
I chose my sentiment, "Rise & Shine it's Coffee Time" from the "Coffee Anyone" Digi Sentiment Collection. I sized it to approximately 1.5", and printed it out on white cardstock and cut it out using a stitched die.
 
 
So here it is..."Rise & Shine it's Coffee Time"!
I had so much fun creating this card! Maybe it is because I am a Coffee Loving Cardmaker, or maybe it's because I have a creative addiction.
